Major League Baseball made public the honorees for the 2025 Rawlings Gold Glove awards Sunday evening.

The Gold Gloves have been presented annually since 1957 to recognize the finest defensive player at each position within each league. Initially, in that inaugural year, a single MLB-wide accolade was awarded for each position. Subsequently, in 1958, the Gold Gloves were divided into separate awards for the American League (AL) and the National League (NL). Furthermore, the initial format consisted of three outfielders per league, irrespective of their specific positions. The current format designates individual outfield positions: left field, center field, and right field.

The selection of winners involves a combination of votes from managers and coaches (75%) and a statistical analysis (25%). It is prohibited for team staff to cast votes for players from their own team.

While MLB disclosed the “finalists” for the distinction in prior weeks, it is vital to recall that the voting process was finalized before the announcement. The finalists simply represent the top three vote-getters at each position. Thus, any performance demonstrated during the postseason did not play any role in the voting outcome.

Below are the recipients of this year’s Gold Glove awards.
