2026 MLB Season: Schedule, Opening Day, and All-Star Dates Announced

The complete schedule for the 2026 Major League Baseball’s standard season was revealed this Tuesday.

MLB is scheduled to kick off its 2026 journey on Wednesday, March 25, as the New York Yankees journey to Oracle Park in San Francisco, locking horns with the Giants in a single opening-night showdown. The following day promises a full agenda, showcasing 14 games, thereby creating the earliest conventional Opening Day in the league’s history.

Next year’s seasonal onset will deviate from recent years, where MLB staged opening series in Japan (2025) and South Korea (2024).

MLB is scheduled to host the 2026 All-Star Game at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on July 14, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the United States. It will mark MLB’s first return to the Phillies’ home ground for All-Star celebrations since 1996, when they were still at Veterans Stadium, before the inauguration of Citizens Bank Park in 2004.

In another interesting development, the A’s are set to host consecutive series against the Brewers and Rockies in mid-June at Las Vegas Ballpark, home to their Triple-A affiliate, the Aviators. The A’s will proceed with their residence at Sutter Health Park in Sacramento, just like in 2025, as they anticipate their new Vegas ballpark.

Interleague games will mirror the format from two seasons prior, showcasing highlights such as the Red Sox at Cardinals in April, the Dodgers at Yankees following the All-Star break, the Yankees at Cubs in late July, and the Cubs at Red Sox as the season winds down.

The “Rivalry Weekend” (May 15-17) is also making a comeback, displaying regional clashes involving the Yankees at Mets, Cubs at White Sox, Royals at Cardinals, Dodgers at Angels, Rangers at Astros, and Orioles at Nationals.

Jackie Robinson Day is scheduled for April 15, Lou Gehrig Day for June 2, and Roberto Clemente Day for Sept. 15. The Yankees and Mets will commemorate the 25th anniversary of 9/11 at Yankee Stadium from Sept. 11-13.
