• Canelo vs. Crawford: Staredown!

Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford faced off today, Friday, June 20, 2025, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, at the conclusion of the press conference launching their highly anticipated mega-fight. The bout is scheduled for Saturday, September 23, 2025, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Canelo will defend his undisputed super middleweight championship against “Bud” Crawford, the current WBA super welterweight and WBO interim super welterweight champion. This matchup is poised to be one of boxing’s most significant events in recent years.

Turki Alalshikh is determined to make it a truly entertaining spectacle.

Alalshikh recently expressed his dissatisfaction with recent “Tom and Jerry” style fights and upped the stakes by introducing a knockout bonus for this particular event.

“We will not have those anymore, that’s the first thing,” he stated at the press conference. “Second, for this fight and next fight we will have a bonus for a knockout.”

Adding to the grandeur, the victor will also receive a brand-new championship belt valued at $188,000. See it here:

Notably absent from the press conference was Ultimate Fighting Championship (CE) president, Dana White, who is currently in Baku preparing for his own event this Saturday. While White was initially announced as the lead promoter for the fight, and despite some discussions about potential changes, he is still expected to be involved in promoting the event.

However, it remains to be seen if the outspoken UFC leader will attend the upcoming Canelo vs. Crawford press conferences, scheduled for New York on June 22nd and Las Vegas on June 27th.
