Coming off a rough showing at the U.S. Open, former Alabama Crimson Tide golfer Justin Thomas is bouncing back in a big way this week at the 2025 Travelers Championship.
Played from TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut, Thomas opened play Thursday with an impressive round of 67 to finish three-under par, and then followed that up Friday with an even better second round of 64 (-6). As a result, Thomas has skyrocketed up the leaderboard, and now enters the weekend sitting at nine-under (-9) for the tournament, and is currently in a three-way tie for first place with defending champion Scottie Scheffler and Tommy Fleetwood.
A former standout golfer at Alabama, Thomas’ last PGA Tour win came back in April of 2025 when he recently won the RBC Heritage. Prior to that, Thomas’ last win came back in the 2022 PGA Championship, which was his second-ever major victory.
Thomas has also missed the cut at his last two major tournaments, the U.S. Open and the PGA Championship.
The former Alabama star will begin his third round Saturday at 2:25 p.m. ET.
