It’s better to be safe than sorry …
In a thrilling Lightweight clash at UFC Baku, Nazim Sadykhov and Nikolas Motta engaged in a fierce battle for two rounds. The event took place earlier today, Sat., June 21, 2025, at the Baku Crystal Hall in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Sadykhov ultimately secured a knockout victory over Motta in the second round (watch highlights).
Following the fight, UFC officials informed MMAmania.com that Motta was taken to a local Baku hospital for a precautionary CT scan of his head and face. The results of the scan are currently unknown.
Despite the post-fight medical attention, both fighters had reason to celebrate. The two 155-pound competitors each earned an extra $100,000 – $50,000 for “Fight of the Night” honors and another $50,000 for “Performance of the Night.”
Motta received news of his bonus while in the hospital.
Ismail Naurdiev, also at UFC Baku, was transported for a precautionary CT scan of his head and face following his loss to Jun-yong Park.
Naurdiev lost by unanimous decision in a fight marred by controversy. Park was subjected to multiple fouls, including eye pokes in the first and second rounds, and a devastating illegal knee that resulted in a rare two-point deduction for Naurdiev. This type of sanction has only occurred twice before in UFC history: during Alex Caceres vs. Edwin Figueroa (UFC 143) and Jon Jones vs. Anthony Smith (UFC 235).
The results of Naurdiev’s CT scan are currently unavailable.
