Bing Crosby & San Diego Handicap: Expert Picks

For the ninth consecutive year, America’s Finest Racing is inviting some of the most knowledgeable individuals in the realm of equine wagering to present their foremost selections for significant contests each weekend preceding the 2025 Triple Crown and subsequently through the 2025 Breeders’ Cup World Championships. These experts will participate in what we fondly refer to as the “Premier-Race Competition.”

The participants’ predictions will be showcased here, and an ongoing financial record will be maintained to monitor their achievements throughout the year. Financial records will be calculated based on $2 exacta and $2 trifecta boxed wagers, encompassing each participant’s top three selections. We will also document which participant accurately identifies the highest number of victors.

The contenders for the 2025 Premier Race Competition season consist of Edison Hatter (In The Money Media Podcast Host & Track Announcer), Thomas Kearney (Track Announcer, Shenandoah Downs), Ashley Mailloux (freelance racing analyst), Jessica Paquette (Racecaller for Parx Racing, Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation), John Piassek (Assistant Racing Secretary, Yonkers Raceway),  Roberto Rodriguez (El Potro Roberto, DRF en Espanol), Mike Somich (VSiN Host; The Magic Mike Show – The Racing Dudes), Darwin Vizcaya (Handicapper and Host), Rowan Ward (Chartcaller at Hawthorne Race Track and a Freelance writer), and Alexa Zepp (Handicapper, America’s Best Racing).

This week’s Premier-Race Competition contests are: the $300,000, Grade 2 San Diego Stakes and the $400,000, Grade 1 Bing Crosby Stakes, both occurring Saturday at Del Mar. The San Diego serves as the local preparatory event for the $1 million FanDuel Racing Pacific Classic Stakes, while the Bing Crosby grants its victor an automated invitation through the “Win and You’re In” Challenge Series into the Cygames Breeders’ Cup Sprint, also to be conducted at Del Mar on Nov. 1.

The San Diego Stakes and the Bing Crosby, together with all other races originating from Del Mar during its summer gathering, will be broadcast on FanDuel TV.
