Reports suggest that Tottenham Hotspur are observing a player with whom the current manager, Ange Postecoglou, has previous familiarity, potentially leading to a future acquisition.
The Spurs head coach transitioned across London during the recent summer period, following a substantial tenure at Brentford. He successfully guided the Bees from the Championship league, securing their place and maintaining their status as a Premier League competitor.
Postecoglou oversaw what was considered a successful initial transfer window at Tottenham, securing the signings of talents such as Brennan Johnson and James Maddison. It is speculated that he might consider bringing in a player from his former Brentford squad.
Tottenham’s Interest in Ivan Toney
The German international had a noteworthy season the previous year, featuring in each of Brentford’s Premier League matches and netting 11 goals.
Schade is still considered a key member of the squad under the guidance of assistant manager Alan Sheehan, who has been using the 23-year-old more as a central attacking player this season.
His single goal of the current season came in the opening minutes of Brentford’s 2-2 match against Chelsea in the previous month.
Given his age, it is believed that Schade has not yet reached his peak, with Romano stating that he is ‘one to watch’ regarding potential transfer activity.
However, as Postecoglou knows, acquiring Schade from Brentford will likely be a difficult process, even if Tottenham decide to wait until the summer, as has been suggested.

According to sources, Brentford are in a strong position to demand a significant transfer fee for Schade, assuming they are willing to part with him.
Brentford has consistently shown a willingness to negotiate firmly for their top players, particularly when those players have extended contracts.
Liverpool spent £35m to acquire Christian Eriksen near the end of the transfer window, while Ivan Toney was valued at £50m when Arsenal showed interest during the summer.
Schade was signed for approximately £25m in 2023 and is under contract until the summer of 2028. Therefore, by the end of this season, Brentford will be in a favorable position to potentially sell the player for maximum profit.
