UFC Rio: Oliveira & Others Earn $50K Bonuses

The famed mixed martial arts promotion visited Brazil for this evening’s UFC Rio show, and a total of four competitors were awarded individual accolades for their efforts.

The evening’s marquee matchup featured a clash in the lightweight division, pitting former titleholder Charles Oliveira against seasoned contender Mateusz Gamrot. The battle culminated in yet another memorable showing from Oliveira. ‘Do Bronx’ managed to gain an advantage over ‘Gamer’ both in striking exchanges and on the ground, ultimately securing a submission victory via choke hold in the second round. Following the win, Oliveira openly challenged current BMF titleholder Max Holloway!

The co-main event of UFC Rio featured a bantamweight contest between former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo and Montel Jackson. The bout was marred by a lack of consistent engagement from both competitors, and Figueiredo was awarded a split decision victory.
