The Brazilian competitive gaming group, Alpha7 Esports, claimed the title as the victor of this year’s PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC), which was among two global competitions held during PUBG UNITED 2025.
This team participated in a contest against 39 different international squads in Bangkok, Thailand, and successfully won the biggest portion of the tournament’s $3 million (approximately £2.24 million) total prize fund.
This in-person competition took place from November 24th through December 14th, 2025, concurrently with the PUBG Global Championship.
Alpha7 Esports earned its place in the championship event by securing second place in the PUBG Mobile Super League Americas Fall 2025 earlier in the current year.
Following their performance in the Super League, Alpha7 Esports commenced their PMGC journey in The Gauntlet, a phase comprising 18 games over three days. By securing a spot among the top seven teams, they advanced directly to the Grand Finals.
Details of the PMGC Grand Finals
A number of prominent teams participated in the Grand Finals, such as the PMGC 2024 victor, DPLUS, and the second-place finisher, Regnum Carya Esports (previously known as Regnum Carya Bra Esports). Additionally, various other teams distinguished themselves during the PMGC, with R8 Esports leading The Gauntlet by scoring 154 points.
Concurrently, the top-scoring team from the Group Stage, DRX, accumulated a total of 179 points.
In the Grand Finals, a total of 16 teams engaged in 18 games over a three-day period, striving to outlast their opponents and achieve the maximum number of eliminations.
Nevertheless, on the third day, the Smash Rules were put into effect, making teams that achieved a specific score eligible for ‘match point’ in subsequent games. In the context of PMGC 2025, this benchmark was determined by the leading team’s cumulative score after game 12, augmented by an extra 10 points.
Should a team achieve match point and then secure a victory in a game, that lineup would be crowned as this year’s champions.
Alpha7 Esports Secures the Victory

Alpha7 Esports initially experienced a sluggish beginning in the Grand Finals; despite finishing third in the opening match, they faced quick eliminations in the subsequent three rounds. Yet, Alpha7 Esports dramatically altered their performance on the second day, achieving consecutive victories in games eight and nine, which propelled them significantly higher on the rankings as a leading contender.
By the twelfth match on the third day, Alpha7 Esports emerged as the leading team, setting the match-point requirement at 125. This squad qualified for match point by the sixteenth match, marking them as the initial team to achieve this status in the event.
Alpha Gaming attained match-point status during match 17, while ULF Esports qualified for it in the last game of the PMGC.
Despite this, none of these teams managed to clinch that desired first-place victory subsequent to reaching match point. Consequently, Alpha7 Esports was declared the winner by virtue of accumulating the most points (142) across all 18 games.
