AEW Worlds End 2025 PPV: Live Results, Updates, Grades & Highlights

AEW Worlds End 2025 culminates the year this Saturday, December 27th, with a powerful lineup of contests taking place at the Now Arena in Chicago, Illinois. All Elite Wrestling’s concluding pay-per-view for the calendar year once again emphasizes turmoil, outcomes, and championship instability — appropriate themes for an event designed to establish a fresh start for 2026.

The evening’s premier contest revolves around complete unpredictability, as AEW World Champion Samoa Joe defends his title in a four-person encounter against Swerve Strickland, Hangman Adam Page, and MJF. The stakes escalated further in recent weeks after MJF returned to utilize his Casino Gauntlet agreement, affording the former titleholder an additional chance to manipulate the system to his advantage in pursuit of regaining AEW’s ultimate championship.

The women’s division also holds a prominent position, with AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander clashing with Jamie Hayter in a highly anticipated one-on-one confrontation. Hayter’s return to the championship picture signifies unresolved issues, while Statlander continues to solidify her reign against one of the division’s most formidable adversaries. This presents Hayter’s opportunity to reclaim the top spot she held prior to a significant injury that kept her sidelined for over a year.

Also at AEW Worlds End 2025, the Continental Classic reaches its decisive point, featuring both semifinal matches and the grand final occurring on the same evening. On one side of the bracket, current champion Kazuchika Okada puts everything on the line against Konosuke Takeshita; a defeat would instantly strip him of both the AEW Continental Championship and the AEW Unified Championship, ensuring a new Continental Champion by the conclusion of the night. This is the dream bout fans have eagerly awaited, and the victor will compete twice as Uncrowned’s Breakthrough Wrestler of 2025, Kyle Fletcher, faces Jon Moxley on the opposing side of the bracket.

Aggressive tag-team combat is anticipated when FTR defends the AEW World Tag Team Championships against the Bang Bang Gang in a Chicago Street Fight. With Stokely Hathaway and Ace Austin observing from ringside, this match is poised to escalate into an all-out, highly creative brawl.

The women’s tag team category continues its ascent as well, with The Babes of Wrath — Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale — putting their AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship on the line against the formidable duo of Mercedes Moné and Athena.

Elsewhere on the program, Darby Allin faces off against Gabe Kidd in a singles contest that guarantees substantial levels of torment, while the Death Riders clash with The Conglomeration and their newest ally, Toni Storm, in “Mixed Nuts Mayhem.”

Just one more to conclude. A determined Moxley endeavors to unseat Okada as the C2 draws to a close. Should Moxley deliver two flawless matches in a single evening, it would be astonishing. Let the celebration begin. Two more contests remain at Worlds End.

A powerful lariat from Statlander is met with a clothesline, but the reigning champion rolls through it, setting up a “Saturday Night Fever” maneuver! She secures the victory! Statlander’s reign continues. It was a well-contested, back-and-forth bout.

Statlander evades a Hayterade to deliver a thrust kick and an enzuigiri. Hayter counters with a backbreaker! But then absorbs a vertical suplex as the champion makes a comeback. They both rise to their knees, exchanging elbow strikes until they are on their feet. Statlander disrespectfully spits in Hayter’s face, then seizes the opportunity to hit her own Hayterade! She then attempts the “Saturday Night Fever,” but Hayter reverses it and lands her own! No cover, though! An excellent match as it progresses.

Hayter forces Statlander to the top turnbuckle to execute an avalanche exploder, which landed with a resounding impact. Statlander narrowly avoids a Hayterade by floating over Hayter’s back, then delivers a package piledriver that Hayter manages to kick out of. Hayter appears motionless as Statlander ascends the ropes, but springs to her feet as the champion nears the summit. Slipping underneath, Statlander nearly attempts a powerbomb. Hayter escapes, only to be struck with a devastating avalanche Michinoku driver.

Statlander just executed a BFT! LA Knight would approve! YES!

Hayter begins to fight back, delivering elbows to Statlander’s spine before they exchange powerful blows. And now the hostile Chicago audience is chanting “Green Bay sucks” due to Malik Willis’s injury in the Packers game. How audacious of them. These competitors merit greater respect, Chicago.

Following some strong offense from the champion, Hayter lands a series of powerful chops in the corner. Statlander responds with a scoop slam but misses her bouncing splash attempt. They move to the outside, where Statlander slams Hayter’s back against the apron and announce table, only to be hit with a missile dropkick off the table. Hayter seemed to land even harder than the impact she delivered. Ouch.

Hayter’s early frustrations are evident as she retreats to the outside to collect herself. They commence with some rapid technical exchanges, vying for dominance, each securing shoulder tackle knockdowns. A third tackle brings both to the mat before they attempt kip-ups — though Hayter’s didn’t quite land perfectly. Drawing Hayter to the apron, Statlander executes a precise spring stunner and leg drop. Statlander stands tall, driving Hayter’s face into the steel steps after a catapult maneuver.

We’ve arrived at the segment of the evening where the matches appear entirely poised to impress. This includes our first of two world championship bouts, which is for the AEW Women’s World title, as the champion Kris Statlander goes head-to-head with the former champion Jamie Hayter. I am, for one, incredibly excited.

Storm enters the squared circle and executes a pair of German suplexes on Yuta and Garcia. Shafir intervenes, is swiftly neutralized, only for Castagnoli to re-enter and be met with a DDT. He then follows up with a grand swing on Storm! This is genuinely unbelievable. An Orange Punch connects with Garcia! Followed by a Storm Zero! He rolls out, and Yuta receives the Orange Punch and Storm’s hip attack. Briscoe then comes in for the Jay Driller on Yuta, securing the victory! Alright, that was simply immensely entertaining.

Storm had vanished entirely since the start of the contest, but re-emerged to protect Briscoe from a Shafir knee strike. Storm gains the upper hand on Shafir before Castagnoli seizes Storm by her hair, leading Briscoe to assist her in some tandem offense. That was inconsequential until Storm and Cassidy began implementing some synchronized, even dance-like, teamwork — literally. Superb. Castagnoli is struck with a froggy bo, but the other Death Riders interrupt the pin attempt.
