Sinner extends record run in Miami

Jannik Sinner advanced to the quarter-finals of the Miami Open, extending his impressive streak of consecutive sets won at ATP Masters 1,000 events to 28.

The world number two from Italy, who surpassed Novak Djokovic’s decade-old record of 24 on Monday, secured a win against American Alex Michelsen with scores of 7-5 and 7-6 (7-4).

Sinner, a four-time Grand Slam champion, fought back from a 5-2 deficit in the second set, setting up an encounter with the 19th-seeded American, Frances Tiafoe.

He has claimed victory in the last two Masters 1,000 tournaments – in Paris in November and Indian Wells this month – without dropping a single set.
