Justin Rose joins McLaren Golf, to debut McLaren clubs at Cadillac Championship.

At 45 years old, Justin Rose has remarkably maintained a high level of competition, securing a PGA Tour victory earlier in 2026 and once more contending deep into Sunday at the Masters.

The seasoned English golfer is set to tackle another test this week at the Cadillac Championship. He revealed on Instagram his intention to debut new clubs for the PGA Tour’s return event at Doral. These new golf implements originate from an entirely new company, McLaren Golf, a venture Rose is joining both as an investor and their inaugural brand ambassador.

This golf brand is indeed an extension of the renowned automotive manufacturer, McLaren, which publicly disclosed its plans for a golf division approximately two months prior. They have strategically chosen to launch their brand during the PGA Tour’s stop in the Miami region, coinciding with Formula 1’s Miami Grand Prix weekend.

While this announcement might appear sudden, Rose and McLaren have been collaborating on the development and rigorous testing of these golf clubs for a considerable duration.

In a released statement, Rose remarked, “This endeavor has been a personal passion from its inception. I’ve had the opportunity to be involved from the ground up – collaborating with the team, trialing the equipment, and contributing to their evolution. Such a profound level of engagement, coupled with the exemplary standards McLaren applies to all its undertakings, made this an straightforward decision for me. I am keen to utilize the clubs in competition and witness the brand’s growth.”

This is not the first instance of Rose making an unexpected shift in his equipment sponsorship, though he undoubtedly hopes for a more favorable outcome this time. In 2019, at the pinnacle of his career, fresh off his 2018 FedEx Cup triumph, Rose departed TaylorMade to join Honma. Despite an early victory at Torrey Pines in 2019 while ranked World No. 2, his performance subsequently deteriorated with the new clubs, leading him to terminate his multi-year agreement in 2020 after a series of missed tournament cuts.

Since that period, Rose has opted to operate as an independent equipment player, utilizing a custom blend of clubs from various manufacturers to best suit his playing style. Now, seven years on, Rose is once again investing his trust in an emergent club manufacturer attempting to establish itself in the Tour market, all while experiencing a strong resurgence in his own career.

The Cadillac Championship marks Rose’s initial PGA Tour appearance since his joint third-place finish at the Masters. Although he has generally maintained a lower profile recently, a significant number of observers will be closely watching his performance with McLaren’s newly introduced clubs in his bag.
