While Abner Uribe (as well as closer Trevor Megill) encountered a sluggish stretch early in the season, both relievers have played at a dominant level over the previous two months. The 26-year-old Uribe has not surrendered a single run since a June 19 matchup with Atlanta, giving up only two runs in total since May 15 while compiling 28 frames of work with a microscopic 0.64 ERA and 27 strikeouts.
His stats include 16 holds and six saves this year—with those 16 holds representing the highest mark on the squad (ahead of Aaron Ashby’s second-place tally of nine), and the six saves ranking just behind Megill’s team-leading 18.
