A superb all-round display from the Jamaica Kingsmen guided them to a comfortable 51-run victory over the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots during the 10th fixture of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026 at Sabina Park in Kingston. Pursuing a target of 182, the Patriots never found their rhythm, with their chase further derailed by a bizarre mix-up and run-out featuring Dasun Shanaka and Kevin Wickham.
This key dismissal occurred as the middle-order duo tried to steady the innings during a challenging run-chase. Unfortunately, a physical clash between the two runners in the center of the wicket left Shanaka stranded outside his line, handing the Kingsmen a vital breakthrough.
Dasun Shanaka dismissed run-out following mid-pitch clash with Kevin Wickham
The dramatic moment unfolded on the fourth delivery of Hassan Khan’s over during the second innings. Shanaka struck the ball firmly through the covers and pushed hard for a couple of runs. While crossing paths, Shanaka and Wickham crashed into each other mid-pitch as they strove to complete the second run. The throw was directed to the bowler’s end, allowing Hassan to gather the ball swiftly and dislodge the bails.
The impact of the collision left both batsmen sprawled on the turf, leading the on-field officials to refer the decision to the TV umpire. Upon examining several video replays, the official confirmed that Shanaka fell just short of his ground and was declared out. Having managed only 2 runs from two balls, Shanaka walked back to the pavilion, leaving the Patriots in deep trouble at five wickets down.

Keemo Paul shines with a stellar display to lead Jamaica Kingsmen to a 51-run triumph
Earlier in the match, the Kingsmen suffered an incredibly poor start after being put in to bat, as Saurabh Netravalkar picked up two wickets without conceding a run in the first over. Nevertheless, a sensational 99-run stand off just 63 deliveries between Keemo Paul and Rovman Powell rescued the innings. Paul blasted an impressive 65 off 36 balls, hitting five boundaries and five maximums, while Powell chipped in with a solid 49 off 39 deliveries. An unbeaten cameo of 14 runs off seven balls from Andre Russell pushed Jamaica’s final total to 181/6.
In response, the Patriots found themselves in early trouble, losing three wickets for 31 runs during the powerplay overs. Although Wickham fought hard with a resilient 37 off 34 balls, he lacked meaningful support from the tailenders. Ultimately, the Patriots were dismissed for 130 runs in 18 overs. Paul capped off an exceptional individual game by taking 3/30 with the ball, while Russell chipped in with figures of 2/19 to secure an emphatic 51-run win for the Kingsmen.
