Tottenham midfielder agrees exit

An agreement has been reached for a Tottenham Hotspur midfield player to depart, with negotiations now progressing toward completion.

This is detailed in a recent update suggesting that the North London club is ramping up player departures, having already shelled out upwards of £160 million to secure Matheus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali for their midfield department.

Given that Spurs are also reportedly tracking Omar Marmoush alongside Savinho, clearing out surplus players appears necessary to prevent starting the upcoming campaign with an oversized squad roster.

Pape Matar Sarr close to parting ways with Tottenham Hotspur

A story from Africa Foot indicates that Galatasaray are on the verge of finalizing a deal for Pape Matar Sarr.

The player has reportedly settled on terms for a three-year deal, motivated by what has been characterized as a highly attractive financial package.

Last season, the 23-year-old midfielder registered 26 Premier League appearances for Spurs, though he was limited to roughly an hour on the pitch under De Zerbi’s management.

Signed from Metz in 2022 as a promising young talent, the Senegal international has shown flashes of brilliance, yet De Zerbi’s preferred double-pivot tactical setup could leave Sarr further down the selection list.

It is expected that Fernandes and Tonali will form the primary partnership for Spurs this year, while Rodrigo Bentancur, Archie Gray, and Conor Gallagher provide strong depth in the central positions.

Lucas Bergvall, who arrived prior to De Zerbi’s appointment, remains a squad option, but reports from FourFourTwo suggest that he might also be on the move.

For the attacking midfield role, the manager can call upon James Maddison, Mohammed Kudus, Dejan Kulusevski, and Xavi Simons.

While Turkish publication Takvim previously reported interest from Fenerbahce earlier in the year, those links seem to have gone entirely quiet.

Negotiations between the London club and Galatasaray regarding Sarr are moving forward positively, and the transfer is now widely anticipated to go through, according to Africa Foot.

With a market valuation of €14m on Transfermarkt, the midfielder’s future is being resolved just as Tottenham prepare to open their Premier League campaign against Brentford this coming weekend.
