Aaron Gordon, a prominent forward for the Denver Nuggets, has experienced a Grade 2 right hamstring pull and will be reassessed in a time frame of four to six weeks, according to Shams Charania of ESPN. The injury occurred early in the initial quarter of Denver’s victory against the Houston Rockets in NBA Cup competition on Friday.

Gordon, aged 30, was absent from Saturday’s defeat to the Sacramento Kings. Charania mentioned that Gordon has been managing issues in both hamstrings throughout this season and previously participated while enduring a Grade 2 left hamstring strain during Game 7 of the second round of the playoffs against the Oklahoma City Thunder in the previous season.

The athletic forward has demonstrated remarkable performance this season, achieving a career-best average of 18.8 points per game with a career-high 44.4% success rate in 3-point shooting, placing him among the top 20 in the NBA thus far this season. Gordon’s injury arises just over a week following a left ankle sprain experienced by fellow starting wing Christian Braun. The Nuggets have indicated that Braun will undergo reassessment in six weeks.

The concurrent injuries leave Denver with limited options on the wing; Spencer Jones and Peyton Watson were included in the starting lineup against the Kings alongside Nikola Jokić, Jamal Murray, and Cameron Johnson. Tim Hardaway Jr. and Bruce Brown both saw extended playing time off the bench, and Hunter Tyson was also integrated into the bench rotation.

Denver holds a record of 12-4 for the season and occupies the second position in the Western Conference, trailing only Oklahoma City (16-1).
