Alcaraz Powers Europe to Laver Cup Lead.

The holder of six major titles, Alcaraz, expressed that competing in the doubles game enabled him to display his renowned talent.

“I believe it [doubles] presents additional chances to execute impressive plays and exceptional volleys,” the 22 year old stated.

“However, doubles is not solely dependent on a single player. It represented a collaborative [attempt] alongside an outstanding player in Jakub.

“He possesses remarkable abilities and facilitated my comfort on the court.”

Alcaraz and Mensik encountered no breakpoint against the American team of Fritz and Michelsen, as Alcaraz demonstrated skillful net play and Mensik provided strength from the baseline.

Alcaraz has been defeated in only six of his 67 matches on the ATP Tour during the current year, securing seven championship titles.

Match triumphs on the inaugural day of the Laver Cup are valued at one point each, while two points are granted for victories on days two and three.

The team that attains a total of 13 points, out of the possible 24 throughout the three-day competition, will be declared the victor.

The European side has emerged victorious in five out of the seven iterations of the competition.
