Carlos Alcaraz maintained his strong showing at the US Open, securing a decisive win against Jiri Lehecka to advance to the semi-final stage.
The tennis player from Spain needed under two hours to overcome the Czech player with scores of 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York.
The holder of five Grand Slam titles set the tone early by breaking the serve of Lehecka, ranked 21st globally, in the very first game and maintained control throughout.
This marks the third occasion that Alcaraz, the 2022 US Open victor, has progressed to the semi-finals in New York.
For the first time in his career, he has reached the semi-finals of a Grand Slam tournament without conceding a set, becoming the youngest male player to achieve this feat since Rafael Nadal at the 2008 French Open.
The 25-year-old will next compete against either fourth-seeded Taylor Fritz or 24-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic for a spot in the championship match.
