The Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) 2025 Midseason Playoffs are scheduled to commence the following week, showcasing 40 teams and a $2m (~£1.47m) prize fund.
Here’s an overview of what enthusiasts can anticipate as they approach the second international Apex Legends tournament of the year.
ALGS Midseason Playoffs Format and Schedule
The ALGS Midseason Playoffs are scheduled from July 10th-13th within the Esports World Cup (EWC) framework in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The four-day competition will begin with a Pool Play phase, dividing teams into two groups, each containing 20 teams.
Each group will engage in competition to accumulate points over a 10-match series, which will determine each participant’s progression in the tournament:
- The foremost 7 squads from each group will proceed straight into the Match Point Finals
- Teams ranked 8-17 in each group will qualify for the Last Chance Semifinals
- The 3 lowest-ranked teams in each group will be removed from the competition
Subsequently, the Last Chance Semifinals will host 20 teams in another 10-match series. However, just the top 6 squads will secure spots in the Finals.
Within the Match Point Finals, the remaining 20 participants will contend under the ALGS Match Point structure until the Midseason Playoffs Champion is determined. The victorious team will receive the most substantial portion of the event’s prize money and secure vital points for both the ALGS Championship and the EWC.
Throughout the entirety of the event, POI Drafting and Legend Bans will heighten the competition. These regulations will remove the most often selected Legend from availability for the remainder of the series after each match.
ALGS Midseason Playoffs Teams

The Midseason Playoffs are set to feature 35 prominent teams originating from the ALGS’s four regional Pro Leagues (Americas, EMEA, APAC North, and APAC South). The concluding five participants are selected from the inaugural ALGS Open, including its victor, Team Falcons, raising the total to 40 teams.
Held from May 1st-4th, the ALGS Open marked the game’s largest LAN occurrence, with 160 competing teams from all parts of the globe.
