Based on total eliminations, Electronic Arts (EA) has disclosed the firearms most frequently employed throughout the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) Year 5 Championships.

From the total arsenal of 29 weapons available in Apex Legends, a select group of 10 firearms were consistently chosen by competitors during the culminating event of the game’s season.

EA’s data indicates that the R-99 SMG emerged as the top-ranking weapon at the ALGS Year 5 Championship in Sapporo, Japan, accounting for an impressive 1007 eliminations. This comes as no shock, given the SMG’s enduring presence as a core element of the game and its consistent strong performance since the battle royale’s debut in 2019.

Securing the second spot, the G7 Scout marksman rifle registered 494 kills. Competitors frequently employed the G7 Scout to break opponents’ shields from afar, subsequently advancing to finish off adversaries with close-range weapons like shotguns and SMGs.

With 377 kills, the Alternator SMG ranked as the third most utilized weapon during the tournament. This weapon, once largely overlooked in Season 26, has become a favored strategic option in 2026, attributed to recent enhancements in its damage output, magazine capacity, and the introduction of the double-tap hop-up attachment.

Prominent Firearms and Less Frequently Selected Weapons

Additional widely favored armaments featured the Triple-Take sniper, which secured the fourth position with 266 eliminations; the potent RE-45 auto pistols, placing fifth with 231 kills; and the dependable Volt SMG, ranking sixth with 190 kills.

Remarkably, the seventh most preferred item among professional players was the Frag Grenade, an explosive device, not a firearm, and the sole piece of ordnance to make the top 10 with 142 kills. These throwable items proved equally vital in the current year’s championships for dislodging squads entrenched in strategic Points of Interest (POIs) with legends such as Newcastle, Wattson, and Caustic.

Rounding out the lowest three positions on the list are the Bocek Compound Bow, in eighth place with 132 eliminations; the Mozambique Shotgun, ranking ninth with 85 kills; and the C.A.R SMG, which came in tenth with 74 kills.

It’s noteworthy that several weapons, which enjoyed considerable popularity in prior competitions like the ALGS Split 2 Pro League, failed to secure a spot in the top 10 this time. Among these were the Peacekeeper shotgun and the 30-30 Repeater marksman rifle; despite their presence in the championship, they did not contribute to a comparable number of kills.
