
All-Star Dallas Mavericks power forward, Blake Griffin, is slated to be unavailable for his team’s forthcoming pair of contests following the emergence of a left calf ailment sustained during the game against the Indiana Pacers. The organization communicated this update on Friday. Griffin is scheduled for another evaluation after the Mavericks conclude their match against the Houston Rockets on the subsequent Monday.
“Today, the Dallas Mavericks publicly declared that MRI scans indicated a minor left calf strain for power forward/center Blake Griffin,” stated the Mavericks in their official announcement. “Griffin incurred the injury during the initial quarter of the team’s face-off against the Indiana Pacers held on Wednesday. Consequently, he was sidelined for the remainder of the game as a precautionary measure.”
Griffin participated for a mere seven minutes during the confrontation with the Pacers prior to his exit due to the experienced discomfort. He recorded a total of four points, four rebounds, and one steal. After being formally ruled out for the rest of the game during halftime, he did not resume play.
“He made an attempt to return, but we were unwilling to assume any unnecessary risks,” relayed Mavericks head coach, Rick Carlisle, to the press following the Pacers game. “We will closely observe his progress as we move forward.”
Leading up to the showdown against the Pacers, Griffin was designated as likely to play on the official injury report, citing bilateral Achilles tendinopathy.
