KT Rolster and Anyone’s Legend have emerged as the initial competitors advancing to the elimination rounds of the League of Legends World Tournament in 2025.
These teams guaranteed their advancement following triumphs over Top Esports and CTBC Flying Oysters, during the initial best-of-three (BO3) matchups in the Swiss Stage.
CFO and Anyone’s Legend Compete Fiercely in World Championship Showdown
Coming from a stunning victory against the reigning champions T1, CTBC Flying Oysters (CFO) was unable to continue their pursuit towards the Knockout Stage, succumbing to Anyone’s Legends in a thrilling series.
The anticipation surrounding the BO3 series was palpable, further heightened by Anyone’s Legend’s Li ‘Flandre’ Xuanjun selecting Kled during the initial game’s draft. Despite Anyone’s Legend being favored, CFO stood firm in the early stages.
While the LPL team secured the initial elimination and turret, along with capturing a pair of dragons, the LCP’s leading squad managed a slight edge in gold. Subsequent to a somewhat cautious initial phase, the contest intensified in the 18th minute near the dragon’s lair. After achieving four eliminations without any losses, CFO seized control, defeating the third dragon and capturing the Atakahn after yet another nail-biting team conflict.
Notwithstanding their advantage, Anyone’s Legend refused to relent. As the LCP representative sought to end the game, seasoned jungler Lee ‘Tarzan’ Seung-yong stole the Baron for Anyone’s Legend in the 30th minute. However, CFO responded swiftly, eliminating the LPL second seed entirely to retain their advantage.
A Quadra Kill by Chiu ‘Doggo’ Tzu-Chuan, playing as Corki in the 38th minute, capped off CFO’s surprisingly strong game, securing a 20-5 victory in 38 minutes.
Game two began with much more aggressive play, as both teams exchanged eliminations within the first 15 minutes. Yet, in a complete reversal of game one, CFO had the dragon advantage but could not seize the third dragon in the 18th minute. This time, Anyone’s Legend dominated the crucial team conflict to amass a gold advantage.
As attention turned toward the Atakahn, both factions sought to steal this essential objective. Ultimately, though, Anyone’s Legends stole the fourth dragon of the game along with the Atakahn in the 25th minute.
Despite CFO’s determined efforts in game two, Anyone Legends’ excellent team fighting abilities helped the Chinese squad even the score to 1-1 with a 30-minute, 18-11 triumph. The player of the match was undoubtedly Cui ‘Shanks’ Xiaojun, whose Orianna secured a KDA of 5/1/10.
With a spot in the Knockout stages at stake, game three commenced with considerable tension, as each side only managed one elimination by the 15th-minute mark.
However, eventually, it was Shanks on the LeBlanc who presented too great of a challenge for CTBC Flying Oysters. After racking up three eliminations by the 17th minute, the AP champion scaled effectively to help deliver the series victory in front of AL’s fans.
A key moment in the match unfolded during the 20th minute, with Anyone’s Legends claiming the Atakahn, and an Ace, gaining momentum in the contest. Ten minutes later, Top Esports invaded CFO’s base to claim a 15-7 30-minute victory.
KT Rolster Defeats Top Esports

The initial match of Worlds 2025 Swiss Stage round three featured a clash between League of Legends’ two dominant regions, as the LPL’s Top Esports and LCK’s KT Rolster aimed to secure an early berth in the Knockouts Stage.
In the end, the South Korean representative emerged victorious with a 2-0 shutout.
The narrative of game one closely mirrored KT Rolster’s matches thus far. The LCK second seed was at a disadvantage in the early phase, conceding first blood and three dragons by the 17th minute. However, the game’s defining moments occurred during the mid-game.
By persistently denying Top Esports the Dragon Soul, as well as executing pivotal team skirmishes, KT Rolster assumed command of the game. With gold levels relatively balanced, KT Rolster’s prowess in team combat was evident around the Baron pit, eliminating their adversaries and securing the objective.
Moments later, KT Rolster dismantled Top Esports’ Nexus to achieve a 28-10 win. Standout performances came from Jungler Mun ‘Cuzz’ U-chan on Wukong (7/3/13 KDA) and Seo ‘deokdam’ Dae-gil’s Corki (9/1/11 KDA).
While the first game showed some promise for Top Esports, the same could not be stated for game two. Although Top Esports’ support player Fu ‘Hang’ Minghang secured first blood for the team, KT’s superior control of objectives and aggressive tactics proved too overwhelming for the LPL side.
A 26-minute Quadra Kill by Deokdam on Ezreal sealed Top Esports’ fate, as the team secured the Baron and the Dragon Soul shortly thereafter to win 18-7 in just under 30 minutes. Consequently, KT Rolster, surprisingly, concluded the Swiss Stage with a perfect 3-0 record and a position in the Knockouts.
