Aston Martin Announces 2026 F1 Car Launch Date

The debut of Aston Martin’s 2026 Formula 1 contender is scheduled for February 9, as communicated by the team through a concise announcement on social media.

Aston Martin’s message simply stated, “AMR26 arrives,” confirming the name of their forthcoming racing machine, consistent with their established naming system, along with the launch date.

The team, based in Silverstone, holds the distinction of being the first to reveal the launch date for their 2026 F1 entry. Red Bull and Racing Bulls are organizing a season kickoff event in the United States on January 15 but will only present their updated liveries at that time.

Aston Martin’s unveiling is timed just two days prior to the commencement of Bahrain’s pre-season testing, set for February 11-13 and 18-20. However, their car will initially hit the track in Barcelona for collective testing on January 26-30. The driving duties will again be shared by seasoned racer Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll.

The 2026 season will represent a pivotal year for the team, coinciding with the introduction of new technical regulations in F1. Considering the significant financial commitment made by the ambitious owner, Lawrence Stroll, his patience may be tested, especially following the team’s decline from fifth to a projected seventh place in the 2025 constructors’ championship, despite the substantial investment in facilities and personnel.

While drastic changes haven’t occurred yet, engineering expert Adrian Newey will assume a leading role within the team for 2026. This appointment marks the third change in team principal within a year, following the transitions of Mike Krack and Andy Cowell, raising expectations to unprecedented levels.
