ATP Finals: Two Spectators Die of Cardiac Arrests

Regrettably, two attendees at Monday’s ATP Finals passed away due to cardiac arrests, as confirmed by the Italian Tennis Federation (FITP) and the ATP.

The attendees were 70 and 78 years old, and these events transpired separately at the Inalpi Arena in Turin.

“The FITP and the ATP wish to communicate their most sincere condolences following the unfortunate deaths of two spectators yesterday during the ATP Finals in Turin,” according to a joint communication.

“Medical and emergency resources present at the venue responded without delay, offering every form of aid conceivable.

“Despite the swift reaction and later transfer to a medical facility, sadly, both attendees died.”

The initial singles match of the day, featuring Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti and American Taylor Fritz, experienced a delay, with a statement confirming that a medical event was occurring within the audience.

Italian supporters were present in substantial numbers to cheer for Musetti and defending champion Jannik Sinner on Monday.

The ATP Finals are scheduled to continue until 16 November at the venue, which can hold 12,000 people.
