Beterbiev vs. Nicholson: Riyadh, November 22

Artur Beterbiev is scheduled to face Deon Nicholson, currently ranked #11 by the WBA in the light heavyweight division, as part of the undercard for the event taking place on November 22nd in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Nicholson: A Preparatory Bout for Beterbiev

Beterbiev (21-1, 20 KOs), previously the undisputed 175-lb champion, aims to maintain his readiness following his recent defeat to Dmitry Bivol in a 12-round majority decision last February. Artur’s initial aspiration was to engage in a trilogy with Bivol, but the anticipated match has been postponed.

Nicholson (22-1, 18 KOs), aged 34, might not be as recognized as some of the other contenders within the division, yet he presents an acceptable level of preparation. His career has primarily involved bouts against relatively unknown opponents, and he experienced a knockout loss in the third round against Efetobor Apochi in 2021.

Nicholson possesses some punching ability, though not as formidable as his record may suggest. He has faced generally weak opponents, enabling him to achieve a notable KO record without necessarily possessing exceptional power.

News outlets reported Beterbiev’s fight against Nicholson on The Ring IV card set for November 22nd in Riyadh. The Beterbiev-Nicholson fight will occur on the undercard preceding the David Benavidez vs. Anthony Yarde main event.
