Katherine Boulter ended her collaboration with Biljana Veselinovic towards the end of the previous year, concluding a three-year period during which she secured three WTA championships.
At 29 years old, she currently holds the fourth position among British players, having dropped from the global top 100 rankings.
Since Wimbledon, Boulter has achieved victory in merely three matches at the tour level, and sustained an abductor tear during her last competition of the prior year, held in Hong Kong.
Consequently, she narrowly failed to secure a direct entry into the main draw of the Australian Open. She stands as the third alternate at present, and unless enough players withdraw, she will be required to advance through the qualifying rounds at Melbourne Park.
Nevertheless, Boulter still harbors numerous aspirations, which she articulated in a discussion with BBC Sport back in November.
She stated, “Moving ahead with a new mentor, what I am absolutely certain about is that this individual must possess extensive expertise in reaching the pinnacle of this sport.”
“My ranking has climbed as high as 23, and I am confident in my ability to return to that position. I do not believe my skill level has diminished; rather, I perceive a need for enhanced consistency,” she added.
“My objective isn’t merely to achieve rankings of 50, 40, 30, or 20 – we have already reached those points. The true aim is to be within the top 20,” she declared.
Via Instagram, Boulter greeted the year 2026 as “the most exceptional year of her existence” – as she is scheduled to wed Alex de Minaur, Australia’s seventh-ranked player globally.
Furthermore, she unequivocally stated that she would not lament the recently concluded year.
Her post read, “Farewell 2025. Ensure the exit is swift and unimpeded.”
