Former UFC title contender Brandon Royval launched into an impassioned outburst when questioned regarding his enthusiasm for participating in a bout at The White House.
The UFC’s anticipated event on the south lawn of The White House is now less than a year away. UFC CEO Dana White acted swiftly to realize U.S. President Donald Trump’s ambition of holding a card at The White House.
The event has garnered interest from prominent figures like Jon Jones, Conor McGregor, and others who have urged White to secure them a spot on the card. The event will not be open to the public for ticket purchases and will be attended by immediate family members as well as domestic and foreign dignitaries.
White has acknowledged on multiple occasions that he has been contacted by a significant number of UFC fighters expressing their desire to compete at the event. However, Brandon Royval, a UFC fighter, is not one of them.
Brandon Royval delivers a fiery denunciation of fighting at The White House
During a recent guest appearance on the In The Arena MMA podcast, Royval directed an explicit message towards White and the matchmakers concerning a potential fight offer to compete at The White House.
“I couldn’t care less about fighting at the f—– White House. My priority is to fight in front of huge audiences! How substantial can the White House be [in comparison] to a stadium? Is that s— outdoors as well?” Royval questioned.
“I have no regard for any of our current political personalities, and the notion of fighting in front of them feels like some twisted Hunger Games scenario. I have no interest in fighting in front of a collection of f—— billionaires, wealthy individuals who couldn’t possibly care less about me, probably engaging in parlays… I desire to fight in front of individuals who are Raw Dawg enthusiasts, supporters of MMA, and who can genuinely relate to me!
“The hell with all these politicians,” Royval continued. “Personally, I don’t care about impressing politicians, presidents, or anyone else in that realm. Honestly, I have no desire to fight at The White House. Additionally, my appearance is too stereotypically Mexican. ICE is suspiciously detaining m———-s, and who knows what could happen? The next thing you know, I might find myself in Mexico, unable to speak Spanish and dealing with that situation.”
Royval is slated to make his return to the Octagon next month at UFC Vegas 112, facing off against Manel Kape in the promotion’s concluding main event of 2025.
