The Brawl Stars World Finals 2025, hosted in Stockholm, Sweden, experienced a considerably more subdued performance this year in contrast to the 2024 iteration.

The tournament’s highest concurrent viewership decreased from an unprecedented 1.1m to marginally over 211,000 viewers, based on data provided by Esports Charts.

In contrast to the preceding year, where Supercell organised the event at the Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Center concurrently with the Clash of Clans and Clash Royale World Finals, the 2025 event was held at DreamHack Stockholm as a stand-alone competition.

Notwithstanding an increase in broadcast duration, which almost doubled relative to 2024, the average viewership also underwent a substantial reduction, settling at 119,035 (in contrast to 639,209 in 2024).

Nevertheless, the same esports organisations persisted as significant factors in viewership figures. Japanese team Crazy Raccoon (CR) featured in three of the five most-watched series of the competition, with other leading teams such as SK Gaming, HMBLE, and Revenant XSpark also featuring on the viewership leaderboard.

What Happened at the Brawl Stars World Finals

Crazy Raccoon were victorious at the Brawl Stars Championship, taking home the trophy following a convincing win against Italian team HMBLE. This win served as a form of redemption for their defeat in the 2024 iteration, securing 40% of the $1m (~£754,330) prize pool.

The two teams commenced their journey together in the group stage, with CR already asserting dominance in their initial match. Other prospective title contenders, SK Gaming and Totem Esports, also advanced through the group stage, forming a highly competitive knockout bracket where virtually every series held the potential of being a grand final.

The playoff stage, conversely, did not entirely meet expectations, with six of the eight series concluding with a 3-0 scoreline. Unsurprisingly, the remaining two series, characterised by 2-3 records, were among the most-watched matches of the tournament, highlighting that viewer engagement is typically higher when competition is closely contested.

The viewership demonstrated considerable distribution across various demographics, with English and Spanish audiences each accounting for around 50,000 viewers, followed by Portuguese (39,959) and Japanese (35,506).

YouTube was the preferred platform for the vast majority of viewers (147,974), surpassing Twitch by more than 90,000 users. This demonstrates a shift from 2024, when Twitch commanded with over 900,000 peak viewers.
