Aston Villa has officially announced the acquisition of Brazilian young talent, Alysson, from the Grêmio club.
This 19-year-old athlete emerged from his previous club’s youth system, accumulating 41 first-team appearances, alongside contributing one goal and providing two assists.
His transfer to England is now complete through a £10.5 million agreement, comprising an initial payment of £8.7 million and an additional £1.8 million contingent on performance incentives.
The Brazilian team, which concluded the previous season in ninth place in their league standings, also negotiated a 10% sell-on provision for the youthful player.
Alysson, primarily operating as a right-sided attacker, possesses a left foot and now represents Grêmio’s fifth most lucrative player transfer ever.
This young player is now integrated into Aston Villa’s offensive lineup, which already features Morgan Rogers, Ollie Watkins, Jadon Sancho, Evann Guessand, and Donyell Malen, whereas the fate of loaned player Harvey Elliott within the Midlands-based club remains unclear.
The team managed by Unai Emery has mounted an impressive title challenge during the current season, aiming to contend with Arsenal and Manchester City at the summit of the Premier League standings. Alysson’s addition is expected to significantly contribute to their ability to sustain momentum and clinch a spot in the upcoming Champions League tournament.
