A week ago, I put together a video analysis sharing my thoughts on the performance of first-year quarterback Cade Klubnik during the Jets’ first preseason matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Because of the positive response to that clip, I opted to create a follow-up. Featured below is a new video analysis focusing on Cade Klubnik’s performance in their second preseason exhibition against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
For this specific breakdown, I did not review each of Klubnik’s throws like I did for the Buccaneers matchup. The contest against Pittsburgh included quite a few screen passes and straightforward progressions that offer little value in assessing Klubnik’s growth as a professional signal-caller. Still, I made sure to include every snap that I deemed significant.
As mentioned at the beginning of the clip, my goal is for this review to be helpful. Any critiques pointing out where Klubnik could have made a better throw or decision are not meant as harsh condemnation. For a first-year player, the primary focus is on growth and learning from mistakes.
I should also point out that I have no insider knowledge of the specific play designs or the coaching instructions Klubnik received. My analysis relies on reverse-engineering the tape, so please consider this as my personal, informed interpretation of the action.
