Bruins Acquire Former First-Round Pick At Deadline

The Boston Bruins were involved in some activity during the NHL Trade Deadline.

The team obtained Lukas Reichel from the Vancouver Canucks, giving up a sixth-round draft selection in 2026 in return.

Reichel, at 23 years old and sharing German nationality with Head Coach Marco Sturm, has appeared in 19 National Hockey League contests this season across his stints with the Canucks and the Chicago Blackhawks, accumulating two goals and five total points.

Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing 170 pounds, Reichel is an attacker recognized for his remarkable velocity and talent.

In the American Hockey League, he participated in 23 matches for the Abbotsford Canucks, where he tallied six goals and seven assists, amounting to 13 points.

Reichel’s career in the National Hockey League spans 188 games combined for Vancouver and Chicago, with 174 of those appearances being for Chicago.

He participated in the Olympic Games as a representative for Germany, where he registered two goals and three points across five contests.

The Chicago team initially drafted him in the opening round of the 2020 National Hockey League Entry Draft, making him the 17th selection overall.

Reichel is anticipated to enhance the roster depth of the Bruins squad, bringing with him considerable potential for future improvement.
