The undercard lineup for the Canelo Alvarez versus Terence Crawford event was made public today, featuring multiple compelling matchups for the September 13th showcase at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Announcement of Canelo-Crawford Undercard Bouts

The Canelo-Crawford undercard is scheduled to commence at 5:30 PM ET on September 13th, and will be available via YouTube. Dana White verified the card today, expressing his enthusiasm.

  • Serhii Bohachuk opposing Brandon Adams
  • Ivan Dychko versus Jermaine Franklin
  • Reito Tsutsumi challenging Javier Martinez
  • Sultan Al-Mohammed facing Martin Caraballo
  • Steven Nelson competing against Raiko Santana
  • Marco Verde versus TBC (To Be Confirmed

Ivan Dychko (15-0, 14 KOs), a two-time Olympic heavyweight bronze medalist, is set to clash with Jermaine Franklin (23-2, 15 KOs). This contest involves two competitors aiming to establish their presence in the heavyweight category. Franklin, aged 31, has suffered losses in two of his most recent four bouts, against Dillian Whyte and Anthony Joshua.

Bohachuk-Adams Second Encounter

Serhii Bohachuk (26-2, 24 KOs), a former holder of the WBC interim junior middleweight title, is slated to face Brandon Adams (25-4, 16 KOs) in a rematch of their contest held four years prior on March 4, 2021.

During their initial encounter, Adames secured a comeback victory over Bohachuk via an eighth-round knockout. Leading up to the eighth round, Adames was behind on all three judges’ scorecards, with scores of 68-64, 69-63, and 68-64.

In the eighth round, Bohachuk experienced a momentary lapse in focus, which Adams capitalized on to achieve the knockout. Adams’ career progression has been limited since that bout, which remains his most significant victory.

Fan reactions to the announcement of the Canelo-Crawford undercard have been largely unfavorable. Some individuals have expressed disappointment, expecting a higher caliber of matchups for an event promoted as ‘The Fight of the Century.’

These are only the preliminary matches. Many wished to see at least one notable fight on the undercard, instead of a series of bouts featuring fighters unlikely to attain world titles. Considering the substantial earnings of Canelo and Crawford, it’s understandable that Turki Alalshikh might be economizing on the supporting card.
