A two-division ONE MMA World Champion, Christian Lee thrives amidst a level of disarray that might overwhelm many fighters. The 27-year-old juggles the responsibilities of raising three children under one roof, with a fourth son expected soon, while also managing a successful gym and defending his ONE World Titles in two different weight divisions.
Lee is set to defend his ONE Lightweight MMA World Title against Alibeg Rasulov in a highly anticipated rematch at ONE 173, scheduled for Sunday, November 16, at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan. The Singaporean-American fighter is aiming for a clear victory after their previous encounter in December ended in a no-contest due to an accidental eye poke.
The arrival of fatherhood significantly reshaped Lee’s priorities, particularly following the heartbreaking loss of his younger sister, Victoria, in 2022. He directed his focus towards building his own family alongside his high school sweetheart, Katie Allison, discovering a deep sense of fulfillment in the quiet moments spent at home between intense training sessions. The fighter, who once lived solely for competition, now finds purpose in the everyday routines of mornings before training camp and evenings spent with his children.
Lee and his wife had always envisioned having a large family, even from the early stages of their relationship. With three children already, their lives are filled with constant activity, sleepless nights, and schedules that never seem to slow down. The lively atmosphere keeps him engaged every moment he’s awake, and he wouldn’t trade his busy life for anything.
“Family means everything to me. My wife and I have three kids right now, and we’re expecting a fourth baby soon. They keep us occupied and always on our toes,” he shared.
“We’re expecting another boy. So we have one daughter and will have three sons.”
Christian Lee Gives Credit to His Wife, Katie, for Handling His Demanding Schedule
Responsibilities at the Prodigy Training Center add to the daily demands on Christian Lee. The family gym in Waipahu, Hawaii, which was rebranded, needs him to act as the main coach and mentor for fighters, including his younger brother, Adrian Lee. His days begin before sunrise with tough personal training sessions.
Coaching duties take over in the afternoon, after his morning workouts are done. One class after another fills his schedule until the evening, at which point family duties require his attention through dinner and bedtime routines. The relentless pace would exhaust most people, yet Lee remains thankful for everything he has built.
Katie takes care of everything at home while also helping with the gym’s operations. Her hard work is what makes everything work, making sure everything goes smoothly behind the scenes. Lee admits that none of what he does now would be possible without her constant support and shared vision.
“There are many things involved, of course, in managing the time. I’m thankful that my wife is so understanding. She agrees with everything. Having that teamwork is really necessary when you’re dealing with three kids. She also helps me run the gym,” he said.
“I appreciate everything I have. I can’t complain. It’s a lot, but you can’t complain about having a lot. That’s why I’m doing this. I’m working to secure the future for my family.”
