Clark Rookie Card Shatters Auction Record

A Caitlin Clark Logowoman newcomer collectible, bearing her signature, achieved a price of $660,000 (inclusive of buyer’s surcharge) during an auction event Thursday evening. This figure almost doubled the prior top sum expended for a women’s trading card.

The singular, numbered 2024 Panini Instant Rookie Royalty WNBA Flawless Platinum Caitlin Clark Logowoman collectible was revealed live on the digital retail platform Whatnot approximately three weeks prior. Remaining ungraded yet safely packaged by Panini, it proceeded directly to bidding at Fanatics Collect.

The preceding high mark for a women’s athletic card stood at $366,000 (encompassing buyer’s premium) for Clark’s 2024 Panini Prizm WNBA Signatures Gold Vinyl Prizm card, which was transacted at Goldin Auctions in March. This particular card was also designated as 1-of-1 and obtained matching perfect 10 assessments for both the card’s condition and signature from Professional Sports Authenticator.

Another Clark card, similarly sourced from Panini’s recent Rookie Royalty WNBA distribution, could potentially rival the freshly established benchmark. A singular, numbered Clark Logowoman, bearing her autograph, is currently valued at $219,600 (including buyer’s fee) at Goldin Auctions and is scheduled to progress into extended bidding on Aug. 9.

While the Rookie Royalty WNBA Clark collectibles universally showcase signatures applied directly to the card — the $366,000 Clark Prizm card showcases a sticker-affixed autograph — accompanied by inscriptions, the Logowoman patches are neither match-used nor competitor-worn.

Clark has been inactive since July 15 due to an injury affecting her right groin region. On Thursday, representatives from the Indiana Fever communicated that there exists no defined timeline regarding her anticipated return to competition.
