Cloud9 Kia has revealed intentions to organize an exhibition game versus Team Liquid on August 10th, 2025, following the completion of League of Legends’ LTA North competitions.

As per information provided by Cloud9 Kia, the event’s gameplay format will be ARAM. The contest will also involve mixed teams, implying specific Cloud9 Kia participants uniting with Team Liquid.

The exhibition game is scheduled to commence after the conclusion of LTA North Split 3 competitions, which will notably include a competitive face-off between Team Liquid and Cloud9.

The split itself extends from July 26th to September 7th, 2025, and showcases the top eight teams as they contest for a qualifying slot to both the LTA Championships and the 2025 World Championship.

Both teams have encountered varying levels of success and challenge throughout the League of Legends 2025 season thus far.

In the LTA, Team Liquid secured fourth position during Split one in January, thereby qualifying for the Cross Conference where it achieved victory over 100 Thieves and successfully proceeded to the First Stand tournament. Nevertheless, against international competitors, Team Liquid fell short and was the initial team to face elimination.

With Split two, Team Liquid once again attained fourth place, though it did not secure qualification for either the Esports World Cup (EWC) or the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI).

Cloud9 has undergone its own collection of peaks and troughs, but demonstrated heightened anticipation upon establishing a partnership with automotive brand Kia America, thereby competing as Cloud9 Kia.

The organisation initiated Split One with remarkable momentum, securing second place overall following its defeat against 100 Thieves. It consequently secured fourth place in the Cross Conference after falling to Team Liquid 2-1 during the Semi-Finals. Throughout the second split, Cloud-9 emerged as one of two teams that qualified for the EWC event, though narrowly missed out on MSI to FlyQuest. While at EWC, Cloud9 was among the first to be eliminated, securing 11th place and a $50,000 prize.

In the third split, Cloud9 Kia has exhibited strong performance as of the time of writing, leading the Pick and Play Phase. It has defeated LYON and Dignitas 2-0 in both instances, and is poised to compete against Team Liquid in round three.
