The team from West London has had to adapt to playing without Harvey Elliott due to an injury-related setback at the start of the season for the attacking player.
The English footballer has been absent from the team’s last eight matches since being substituted during the first part of their 2-1 loss against a Manchester-based club on September 20.

That disappointing trip to Old Trafford was just one of four appearances this season for Elliott, who is ranked at no.5 in a publication’s list of the best attacking midfielders currently.
He was unable to play for nearly a month after starting in the team’s first Premier League match against a South London team, before participating in three games within a week, concluding with the loss against the Manchester side.
Having initially hoped Elliott would return shortly after the team from West London resumed Premier League matches following this month’s international games, the team’s head coach now anticipates his return in December.
“Unfortunately, he will likely be out for another six weeks,” the Italian manager stated on October 17.
“Yes, definitely [he still does not require an operation]. We are trying to protect Harvey as much as possible, and that is the most important thing.”
The team from West London has performed well in Elliott’s absence, securing six victories and suffering two defeats in the eight matches without the 23-year-old.
They achieved a 4-3 win against a team nicknamed “Wolves” in a thrilling League Cup fourth-round match on Wednesday night, although a 2-1 defeat at home against a team from the North East last Saturday resulted in them finishing the weekend in ninth place in the Premier League.
Elliott’s prolonged absence due to injury is particularly poorly timed for the former youth player from a Manchester-based club, with the international tournament next summer approaching.
The attacking player has not played for his national team since June, and his next opportunity to rejoin the national team will not be until March – the last international break before the national team’s head coach announces his squad for the competition.
