Cowboys’ Lamb Out with Concussion.

DETROIT — During Thursday’s 44-30 defeat at the hands of the Detroit Lions, Dallas Cowboys wideout CeeDee Lamb was sidelined due to a concussion he sustained in the third quarter.

Lamb’s head impacted the turf upon landing while attempting to catch a fade pass from Dak Prescott within the end zone. He exhibited a fencing response, extending his arms, which prompted Prescott to immediately check on his well-being. Lamb then went to the medical tent for assessment and was ultimately declared inactive for the remainder of the contest.

As Javonte Williams registered the Cowboys’ initial touchdown of the game, Lamb emerged from the medical tent and proceeded toward the locker room. Prior to the injury, Lamb had accumulated six receptions for 121 yards.

Following Lamb’s departure, the Cowboys’ available receivers included George Pickens, Ryan Flournoy, KaVontae Turpin, and Jonathan Mingo.

Lamb previously suffered a concussion in 2021 against the Kansas City Chiefs, causing him to miss one game. He also sat out the final two games of the previous season due to a shoulder ailment.

Earlier this season, Lamb was absent for three games because of a high ankle sprain. His 121 receiving yards on Thursday enabled him to equal Tony Hill for the second-most 100-yard receiving performances in franchise history, with 26. Michael Irvin, a Hall of Famer, holds the record with 47. This marked Lamb’s fifth 100-yard game of the current season.

Given the upcoming 10-day respite, Lamb will have additional time to progress through the concussion protocol in anticipation of playing against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, December 14.
