Maxim de Cuyper was substituted in the 24th minute of Brighton’s loss to Bournemouth last weekend, after experiencing a knee problem.
The defender has started well on the south coast, but had to leave the game against The Cherries after colliding with the pitchside surrounds.
Brighton, who have had an inconsistent start to the campaign thus far, have conceded six goals in four league matches and will be hoping that their summer signing isn’t unavailable for a lengthy spell.
Will Maxim de Cuyper feature for Brighton this weekend?
De Cuyper has been in the starting XI for every Premier League match for the Seagulls up to this point, cementing his place after Pervis Estupinan’s move to Milan during the summer transfer window.
The defender made the switch from Club Brugge to Brighton in July for a fee reported to be around £17.5m, having made 54 appearances last season, also helping his former club reach the knockout stages of the Champions League.
It remains to be observed whether de Cuyper will be ready to play against Tottenham at the Amex this weekend, but according to Sussex World, it is believed that his knee problem isn’t serious.
Seagulls manager Fabian Hurzeler also saw Jack Hinshelwood suffer an injury at Bournemouth, whilst defender Adam Webster is set for a longer period on the sidelines having sustained an ACL injury during the pre-season schedule.
Although the season is still young, a win against Spurs this weekend could see Hurzeler’s team move into the top half of the standings.
Brighton are at home to Tottenham at the Amex on Saturday, September 20, with the game kicking off at 3pm.
