Both Djokovic and Andy Murray have previously commented on the late conclusions to matches in Melbourne, with Murray labeling his 4:05 AM finish in 2023 an “absurdity”.
Medvedev, following his defeat to Learner Tien in a match concluding at 2:55 AM local time, expressed his contentment playing during evening sessions but suggested that adjustments to the timetable would be “beneficial for all”.
“I appreciate football, yet here [in Australia], I don’t follow the Premier League since its broadcast times are at two in the morning.
“It’s quite similar – genuine tennis enthusiasts would prefer to view the action starting at six, as it would almost guarantee they could watch both contests.
“Alright, if a match extends excessively, it would conclude at two instead of three. This benefits everyone.”
