Edwards to Miss 2 Weeks, ESPN Reports

According to information obtained by Shams Charania of ESPN, Anthony Edwards, a prominent player for the Minnesota Timberwolves, is expected to be sidelined for a period of two weeks due to a strain in his right hamstring.

The injury occurred during the opening quarter of Sunday’s game against the Indiana Pacers, preventing Edwards from participating further in the match. Subsequent MRI scans confirmed the presence of a hamstring strain, and the team has indicated that he will undergo a reassessment in one week.

Initially, the Timberwolves characterized the issue as tightness in the hamstring. Following Minnesota’s 114-110 win, coach Chris Finch refrained from providing further details.

Edwards successfully executed a challenging layup amidst heavy traffic following a fast break, occurring 3 minutes and 7 seconds into the game. He experienced significant contact before seeking a foul call, which was not granted. Shortly after, the Pacers requested a timeout, and Bones Hyland replaced Edwards during this pause. Subsequently, the Timberwolves announced that Edwards would not be returning to the game.

Edwards, a seasoned player embarking on his sixth season, has been selected for the All-Star team three times. Throughout his career, he has participated in 426 out of a potential 445 games, including playoff appearances.
