England’s Predictable Play Style

Julian Montoya has encouraged Argentina to bring to a close a promising 2025 by causing an upset against England at Allianz Stadium on Sunday.

The Pumas are a solitary triumph away from concluding a productive November tour after overcoming Wales and Scotland earlier this month, along with successes over the British and Irish Lions, New Zealand and Australia earlier this year.

However, they are facing an England team aiming for an autumn grand slam that would prolong their successful streak to 11 Tests.

“England are in excellent form, they understand their game plan and consistently execute it,” expressed Argentina captain Montoya, who has participated in all 12 of his side’s matches in 2025.

“We’ll aim to implement our strategy and execute our plan. They’re a formidable team, but what better way to conclude the year than by competing against them?

“England possesses a very robust pack with highly effective physical formations. We observed that previously in June. We must be aggressive in contact and consistently maintain pressure on them.”

England has been severely impacted by injuries leading up to the third encounter between the nations this year, with centre Fraser Dingwall’s withdrawal from their team on Thursday being the most recent setback.

“England boasts a substantial squad with exceptionally talented players, therefore regardless of who enters the team, their performance level remains high,” Argentina head coach Felipe Contepomi stated.

“We are aware of their intentions, but there are instances when they perform with such skill that it becomes challenging to counteract them.”

England has been compelled to make a last-minute alteration that further challenges their midfield strength. Max Ojomoh steps in at inside centre as a substitute for Fraser Dingwall, who has been sidelined due to a side strain, joining Ollie Lawrence, Tommy Freeman, and Seb Atkinson in the treatment room.

Ojomoh’s second cap provides a stage for the talented and vibrant 25-year-old to exhibit the “swagger” described by captain Maro Itoje, demonstrating his ability in the Test arena against high-caliber opposition, having made his debut against the USA during the summer.
