Enzo Fernandez Announces Injury on ESPN.

Following Enzo Fernandez’s substitution after 83 minutes during a stellar performance against Wolves, speculation arose concerning the reason for his departure. It now appears that a more significant issue is present.

Enzo will not participate in Argentina matches due to knee discomfort

Nizaar Kinsella posted a Tweet regarding Enzo Fernandez’s statement about his knee issue.

Following the match, the midfielder disclosed to ESPN that he requested to be substituted due to persistent discomfort in his knee. He mentioned his choice to forgo his international responsibilities in the coming two weeks to allow for rest and better preparation for the season’s conclusion and the subsequent global tournament.

“I have communicated with the medical personnel [of the Argentina national team] about my knee issue that has been present for four months. I have experienced a bone contusion that has intensified in recent weeks because of the numerous matches played. We mutually agreed that it would be best to rest for these two weeks, considering the importance of the remaining part of the season.”

This development is quite beneficial for Chelsea. The fact that he only played 78 minutes for his nation during the October international break was already fortunate, and this upcoming break offers another vital opportunity for him to recuperate. With South American qualification finalized, the midfielder will only be absent from friendly matches.

Perhaps, a similar situation could be arranged for Moises Caicedo?
