The esports competition facilitator, ESL, has communicated its Counter-Strike 2 esports schedule for the ESL Pro Tour occurring in 2028.
Throughout the year, the competition facilitator will manage six Tier 1 competitions between the months of January and November.
The six competitions affirmed throughout 2028 will constitute a portion of the ESL Pro Tour, the facilitator’s dedicated Counter-Strike 2 esports series.
Alongside the confirmed competitions, ESL has additionally communicated that it may manage additional competitions during the year. More details on any fresh competitions will be communicated individually.
ESL CS2 Competitions in 2028
Subsequent to ESL’s 2028 schedule communication, the complete registry of dates for each competition can be discovered below:
- Competition 1 – January 26th to February 8th
- Competition 2 – March 3rd to 19th
- Competition 3 – April 10th to 16th
- Competition 4 – August 2nd to 13th
- Competition 5 – September 16th to October 1st
- Competition 6 – October 23rd to 29th
The competition facilitator is yet to communicate the locations for the six competitions.
ESL is the primary competition facilitator to communicate its strategies for 2028, adhering to Valve’s Tournament Operation Requirements. Tournaments occurring after December 31st, 2026, must be communicated “at minimum 22 months” before the tournament’s main competition commences.
ESL’s Strategies for the Future
Throughout 2025, ESL has proceeded to communicate its strategies for various CS2 competitions occurring over the subsequent few years.
In August, it was communicated that IEM Cologne 2026 will facilitate the initial Major of the 2026 season, marking a decade since a Counter-Strike Major occurred at the Lanxess Arena.
Later in the month, it communicated that Katowice, Poland, would facilitate the ESL Pro League Season 24 Finals in 2026.
