Since retiring from playing in 2023, Cesc Fabregas has enjoyed a promising start to his coaching career and is now being considered as a potential future manager for Arsenal.
The 38-year-old had a stellar playing career with Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea, Monaco, Como, and Spain, collecting almost every possible trophy along the way, although the Champions League remained elusive.
Fabregas made a positive impression during a one-month stint as caretaker manager of Como in 2023. However, he had to temporarily step down to complete his coaching qualifications before resuming the position full-time last summer.
Ex-Arsenal Player Suggests Cesc Fabregas Could Replace Mikel Arteta

During this time, Fabregas provided support to caretaker manager Osian Roberts in guiding Como to promotion from Serie B. This capped off an impressive ascent from Serie D, where they were competing as recently as 2019.
Last season, Como solidified their position in the Italian top division with a noteworthy 10th-place finish. With ongoing financial backing from their affluent owners, Fabregas’s squad aims to improve further and vie for European qualification in the upcoming season.
The main question is: how long will Fabregas remain with the club after impressing the footballing world with his contemporary, possession-oriented approach? One of his former teammates believes that it is only a matter of time before Fabregas joins one of Europe’s leading clubs.

Jeremie Aliadiere, who played alongside Fabregas after progressing through Arsenal’s youth system and joining the first team, believes that Fabregas’s managerial success was always inevitable.
Speaking to UK Riches, Aliadiere commented: “Cesc Fabregas’s transition into management didn’t come as a surprise to me at all; he possesses all the necessary qualities.
“Even in his playing style, he demonstrated an understanding of the game, possessing vision and an ability to perceive things that other players couldn’t. He was quick to interpret the game and remained composed.
“It’s not surprising that he has achieved success at Como and has attracted interest from top clubs across Europe during the summer.”

Aliadiere could even envision the Spaniard taking over from the individual who succeeded Fabregas in Arsenal’s midfield back in 2011: the current Gunners manager, Mikel Arteta.
He clarified: “It would be fantastic to see him manage Arsenal one day. Patrick Vieira was linked with the club, but it didn’t materialize, even though he would have been a great fit as well.
“It’s always appealing to see former players returning to manage the club, but sometimes things take a different course. You simply have to await the opportune moment and the right circumstances.”
