Falcons’ Bijan Robinson Projected for Record-Breaking Year

As the Atlanta Falcons prepare for the 2026 campaign, one reality stands out more prominently than any other: Bijan Robinson is now the face of this franchise.

Typically, such leadership is associated with the team’s starting signal-caller. However, since Atlanta currently lacks an established, undisputed QB1, the mantle naturally goes to their top performer and most explosive playmaker. At this moment, that distinction belongs to Bijan Robinson, with any other contender trailing by a massive margin.

His fellow NFL players recently recognized Robinson as the league’s third-best overall talent, and he must deliver an extraordinary campaign if Atlanta hopes to break out of their pattern of finishing with seven or eight victories. Just how remarkable does his output need to be?

Writing for The Athletic, Josh Kendall suggests that Robinson is capable of surpassing Chris Johnson’s historic scrimmage yards milestone while also challenging the single-season mark for all-purpose yards held by Darren Sproles.

“Simply forecasting that Robinson will surpass the scrimmage yard record isn’t even the most ambitious projection. During the previous season, he fell just 211 yards short of the 2,509-yard benchmark set by Chris Johnson in 2009. Eclipsing the all-purpose record, which incorporates special teams yardage, requires him to exceed Darren Sproles’ total of 2,696 yards from 2011. This prediction doesn’t assume Robinson will handle kickoff duties in Atlanta; rather, it anticipates an incredibly heavy workload for him as a focal point in both the ground game and the aerial attack.”

Sproles’ historic benchmark is realistic for Robinson to achieve, even if he doesn’t contribute in the return game.

Honestly, should he remain healthy for the entire schedule, we believe his maximum potential is even greater. If Robinson suits up for all 17 matchups and the quarterback play struggles as much as projected, he could potentially flirt with a staggering 3,000 combined yards on the season.
