Travelers and employees aboard an LNER service from Doncaster to London King’s Cross on Saturday night were assaulted by an individual shortly after the train departed from Peterborough station.
The Scunthorpe United, a National League club, has issued a statement confirming that 22-year-old Jonathan Gjoshe was among those affected by the extensive stabbing incident.

Gjoshe is a registered player for Scunthorpe and has participated in two National League Cup matches during this season.
The club has verified that Gjoshe’s injuries are not life-threatening, but he is still receiving treatment in the hospital.
A staff member working on the LNER service travelling between Doncaster and London King’s Cross is reported to be in a ‘critical but stable’ condition.
As reported by the BBC, Gjoshe suffered an arm injury and has undergone a surgical procedure.
“Scunthorpe United is able to verify that Jonathan Gjoshe, a registered player, was among those who were impacted by the alarming event on an LNER train heading towards London on Saturday evening,” stated the club.
“We can confirm that Jonathan sustained injuries that are not life-threatening due to the incident, but he is currently hospitalized. Due to ongoing investigations, we are currently unable to provide additional updates.
“Everyone associated with the club, from the Board and management to his fellow players, along with all support staff, expresses their sincere wishes for Jonathan’s complete recovery, which also extends to all of the other victims aboard the train.”

Iron’s manager, Andy Butler, commented on the situation, saying, “It really does affect you personally.”
“The club will provide complete support to him throughout his recovery.”
“We are simply hoping that Jonathan is doing well.”
Anthony Williams, 32, who does not have a permanent address, appeared in Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on Monday, facing charges that include 10 counts of attempted murder, one count of causing actual bodily harm, and one count of possessing a weapon.
