The NFL’s Thanksgiving Day schedule arrives tomorrow, and noteworthy developments surround the Dallas Cowboys-Kansas City Chiefs face-off.
Cowboys wideout George Pickens was reported on Wednesday to have fully participated in practice, despite dealing with knee and calf ailments, suggesting his availability for Thursday’s game. Pickens, currently experiencing a stellar season, was initially marked as a DNP (did not practice) in Monday’s preliminary injury report, followed by limited participation on Tuesday. Dallas will be without starting offensive tackle Tyler Guyton, who has been absent from practice all week due to an ankle problem.
The Chiefs, conversely, will be missing Pro Bowl guard Trey Smith when they clash with the Cowboys. Smith’s ankle injury has kept him out of practice throughout the week, meaning Patrick Mahomes will lack one of his primary interior protectors when facing Quinnen Williams and the Cowboys’ reshaped defensive line.
The Detroit Lions caused a stir before their Thursday game against the Packers, as center Frank Ragnow is returning to the team after previously stepping away. The exact timing of Ragnow’s return to the field is unclear, but sources indicate he’s “in shape and prepared to contribute in the near future,” as reported by NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.
The New York Giants also received encouraging news, with quarterback Jaxson Dart set to fully participate in Wednesday’s practice, according to head coach Mike Kafka. Dart remains in concussion protocol, but his prospects of playing this week against the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football are increasingly positive. Dart sustained a concussion two weeks prior and was absent from last week’s game against the Detroit Lions.
Regarding the Patriots, they will be without a key offensive lineman when they encounter the Giants’ formidable defense. Talented rookie Will Campbell is being placed on injured reserve due to a knee injury he sustained in last week’s victory against the Cincinnati Bengals, head coach Mike Vrabel announced. Campbell is the primary protector for quarterback Drake Maye, necessitating adjustments to the Patriots’ offensive line arrangement.
In Minnesota, quarterback J.J. McCarthy has progressed adequately in concussion protocol to engage in limited practice on Wednesday, according to head coach Kevin O’Connell. However, undrafted rookie Max Brosmer received all the first-team snaps. The Vikings are scheduled to play against their former quarterback, Sam Darnold, on Sunday in Seattle.

He suffered a knee injury in Week 11 during a match against the New York Giants and sat out last week’s victory over the Minnesota Vikings.

Hamilton, also dealing with an ankle injury, did not practice on Monday, had limited participation on Tuesday, but was a full participant on Wednesday.
Jackson picked up a toe injury in last week’s game against the New York Jets, adding to his season’s injury list that includes hamstring, knee, and ankle issues. He did not participate in Monday’s practice but practiced fully on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy will have limited participation in Wednesday’s practice. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, head coach Kevin O’Connell told reporters that undrafted rookie Max Brosmer will take all of the first-team reps.
McCarthy is moving forward with the concussion protocol after getting injured in the loss to the Green Bay Packers last weekend.
The second-year quarterback has a 6:10 touchdown-to-interception ratio this season.
Brosmer, a former UNH and Minnesota quarterback, could start his first NFL game on the road against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. practiced Wednesday after undergoing surgery two weeks ago for appendicitis.
Michael Wilson, another Cardinals wide receiver, has recorded back-to-back 100-yard receiving games while Harrison was absent. Wilson is ahead of Harrison on the team’s receiving leaderboard this season.
Harrison, who had a concussion in Week 6 against the Indianapolis Colts but didn’t miss any games, has had an up-and-down season in Arizona.
His usage in the offense, or lack thereof, has been a hot topic despite being last year’s No. 4 overall pick, and he struggled with drops early this fall.
Still, his potential is undeniable, as he’s made some incredible catches for a Cardinals team that has many problems.

Mike Vrabel, the head coach, told reporters Wednesday that the New England Patriots will put Will Campbell on injured reserve and sign Miles Battle, a cornerback, to the 53-man roster.
Campbell was carted off in the second half of a Week 12 win against the Cincinnati Bengals due to a knee injury.
The rookie, whom the Pats selected No. 4 overall in this year’s draft, has been Drake Maye, the team’s second-year quarterback, blindside protector this season.

According to reports from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport, the Denver Broncos have extended defensive tackle Malcolm Roach to a 3-year contract worth up to $29.25 million with $14M guaranteed. Roach is now contracted with Denver until the 2028 season.
Roach has made 21 tackles and 2 sacks in 6 games this year. Roach missed the early season due to a Grade 2 calf strain. This is his second season with the Broncos. Roach played for the New Orleans Saints for his first four seasons, overlapping with Broncos head coach Sean Payton for a few seasons.
The Denver Broncos are first in the AFC West with a 9-2 record. They will play the Washington Commanders on Sunday.
