The Billie Jean King Cup squad for Great Britain has been revealed by team captain Anne Keothavong, featuring a powerful roster including Katie Boulter, Sonny Kartal, Emma Raducanu, and Jodie Burrage.
Boulter holds the world ranking of 41, while Kartal is positioned at 45, Raducanu at 46, and Burrage at 116.
Great Britain secured their spot in the Billie Jean King Cup Finals, scheduled for Shenzhen, China in September, following victories over Germany and the Netherlands in April.
They are slated to compete against Japan in the quarter-finals on Thursday, September 18th, with a potential semi-final match against either the United States or Kazakhstan awaiting the victor.
Great Britain’s best result at the competition was in 1981, when they reached the final when the tournament was known as the Federation Cup. They are yet to win the women’s team title.
Kartal delivered a noteworthy performance at Wimbledon recently, advancing to the fourth round, which represented the deepest run of any of the British female players.
Raducanu made it to the third round before being defeated by Aryna Sabalenka, the world’s top-ranked player.
