Haney Vows to Dominate Norman Jr. in Riyadh Bout.

According to Devin Haney, WBO welterweight titleholder Brian Norman Jr. will experience a significant shock on Saturday, November 22nd, and extend his respect after Haney emerges triumphant in their co-main event battle on DAZN PPV.

Haney (32-0, 16 KOs) emphasized that he will be demonstrably superior to Norman Jr. (28-0, 22 KOs) at The Ring IV event held at the ANB Arena in Riyadh. He expressed confidence in his skills surpassing Norman Jr’s, a fact he intends to showcase.

Norman Jr. Set For A Major Challenge

This contest represents a considerable escalation in competition for Norman Jr., marking a shift from the opponents he has encountered throughout his seven-year professional journey. His prior experiences haven’t involved facing defensive-minded fighters or agile movers. This will present a novel challenge for him to overcome.

“If they underestimate me, so be it. I intend to enter the ring and execute my winning strategy,” Devin Haney conveyed to Ring Magazine regarding his November 22nd match against Brian Norman Jr.

Norman Jr. seems far from underestimating Haney. He recognizes the difficulty of the challenge, understanding that landing powerful blows will be difficult without effectively cutting off the ring. Haney is expected to exhibit greater mobility compared to his previous bout against Jose Ramirez, where he spent 12 rounds circling the ring on May 2, 2025, at Times Square in New York.

“Naturally, I extract lessons from that fight, as well as every other fight,” stated Norman Jr. when questioned about gaining insights from Haney’s fight against Ryan Garcia. “He might also have gleaned something from that. My training is geared toward facing the best version of him.”

Replicating Ryan Garcia’s approach from his 12-round majority decision victory over Haney will prove difficult for Norman Jr., as Haney is unlikely to engage in close-quarters combat, aware of Norman Jr.’s power in both hands.

Skill Disparity Anticipated

“I predict he’ll be very surprised come fight night,” Haney commented on Norman. “I believe he will acknowledge my abilities after I achieve victory. That’s my sole expectation.”

“I don’t need to, because I’m quite confident my hand will be raised at the conclusion of the night,” Norman Jr. responded when questioned about Haney’s statement. “I extend the same sentiment to him. I anticipate he’ll act as a respectful young man and acknowledge my abilities.”
