ATLANTA — The Atlanta Hawks’ premier point guard, Trae Young, is showing positive signs of recovery from his right MCL sprain, with the medical staff indicating a reevaluation period of roughly two weeks.
Young has been sidelined since sustaining the injury during the Hawks’ victory over the Brooklyn Nets on October 29. His absence has extended to 15 contests, with initial estimates suggesting a potential return around mid-December.
Prior to Friday night’s matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the point guard engaged in shooting drills during the pregame warmup. The current assists leader has recorded averages of 17.8 points and 7.8 assists per game.
Since Young’s injury, the Hawks have achieved a 10-5 record. Forward Jalen Johnson has stepped up his performance, accumulating 10 double-doubles, which include two triple-doubles, during that 15-game period.
